Dance Classes for Kids and Teens in Waite Park, St. Cloud and Stearns County, MN
Whether you're looking for dance classes for kids, ballet, tap, jazz, or musical theater, you'll definitely be able to find a class here that your child will love!
Our recreational dance program for kids is developed to provide high quality dance instruction for children ages 18 months through 18 years. These classes are designed for students who wish to dance without a focus on competition. Our curriculum is individualized for each class level, based upon age and ability. It is also divided into quarters, allowing evaluation of both students and teachers throughout the year. We strive to have our students grow and develop each year they are in dance, which is achievable with the implementation of our curriculum and evaluation. All of our classes build foundational skills for your dancer, on and off the dance floor, and instill core values such as teamwork, dedication and mentorship.
TODDLER CLASSES [Ages 18 Months - 3 Years ]
Programs: Mommy & Me and Tiny Tots
Our 45 minute toddler classes are a great way to get your little one ready for a classroom setting. Classes are once per week, and whether you participate in a Parent/dancer class or a dancer-only class, our focus is to introduce the love of dance into your child’s heart. We create an environment where children can developmentally grow, both individually and socially, in a dance class setting. Our goal is to offer a fun and safe place for all students, where they feel comfortable expressing themselves in the classroom. Additional activities will explore gross motor skill development and rhythm. By the end of the year, your dancer will have improved their listening and direction-following skills.
COMBO CLASSES: Ages 3 - 18 Years
Programs [Pre-School]: Sparklers, Twinkles, Moonbeams, Sunbeams, Dazzlers
Our weekly combo classes are a wonderful way for your dancer to experience different styles of dance within a single class. Between the ages of 3 - 6 (1st grade), dancers will learn both Tap and Ballet skills during the one hour class. They will practice short dance combinations and gain performance experience in both Tap and Ballet. Starting at grades 2 - 4, dancers move into training with Tap and Jazz styles and variations. Continuing into the upper levels of middle school and high school, students learn multiple styles of dance within a 1.5 hour class, further expanding their dance vocabulary and classroom etiquette while continuing to grow as a performer.
HIP HOP CLASSES: Grades K - 12
Our Hip Hop program is offered for students in grades K - 12. Hip Hop is one of the hottest trends today, and it continues to evolve and change each and every year. Our classes use free form movements and choreography done to hip hop or pop music. Our Hip Hop classes train dancers to move like many of their favorite music idols, while keeping things family-friendly and appropriate for all viewing audiences.
BALLET PROGRAMS [ Starting at Age 3]
Programs: Tutus & Tiara, Beauty & the Ballet, Pre, Beginning and Intermediate Ballet, Pre Pointe & Pointe
Our ballet program is designed to help your dancer become the ballerina they’ve always dreamed of. Let us help them leap through the sky, twirl with the wind and tippy toes to new heights. Our ballet programs start at age 3 with classes that introduce a dancer to the classical ballet discipline. Each year, dancers learn fundamental skills that will provide them the learning tools to grow at each level. Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes are offered for students who’ve had multiple years of training. Pre-evaluation is required to ensure each dancer has the physical development necessary for a dancer to participate in this discipline.
Programs: Levels, Body & Balance, Ballet & Balance
The Acrobatic Dance program fuses classic dance techniques and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Students blend musicality, expression, lines, and technique with acrobatic movements in a dance context. Acro techniques include flexibility, balance, strength, and tumbling. These classes do not perform in the spring recital. This program is based on multiple skill levels, and students may need to be evaluated to be placed in the correct level. Instructors in this program have certification through Acrobatic Arts, and complete annual continuing education to stay current for your dancer’s development.
